Sustainable Beauty

We stayed for 9 nights at this beautiful lodge, tucked in between the gulf and the rain forest. I was afraid that'd be too long, but not at all. There's much to do (hiking, swimming, kayaking, snorkeling, dolphin watching, yoga, etc) either on your own or with guides. But doing nothing and taking in the beautiful nature all around was wonderful too. The staff was attentive and fun, and went out of their way to accommodate. If you want a resort where you can be waited on all day from the beach or pool, and one that mirrors every other beach resort you've been too, this may not be the place for you. But if you want to experience nature and beauty up close and personal, while knowing that you aren't harming the environment, Playa Nicuesa is an excellent choice. Since I'm returning, maybe I'll see you there

Marsha White yoga retreat at beautiful Playa Nicuesa

My favorite trip ever. Such a beautiful resort tucked away in the jungle. Such well kept grounds at this intimate resort. We were treated like family. Yoga overlooking the ocean twice a day with Marsha was exhilarating! So many activities during the day from hiking to a waterfall, kayaking through the mangroves, paddle boarding or making chocolates from the cacao seeds. The chefs created several unique dishes daily and accommodated my gluten free diet. A very experienced massage therapist at the resort. All the beautiful animals and birds added to the experience. Howler monkeys were our alarm clock every morning. I felt so good after this vacation through practicing yoga twice a day under the instruction of such a knowledgable and seasoned yoga instructor. Marsha helped me take my practice to a new level. I will be returning this summer for her retreat! Do yourself a favor and book this resort! Oh and did i mention the barefoot dancing after dinner? Too much fun :) One last thing...the staff was so genuine and friendly, but not only that, they were so knowledgeable about the animals and their culture. Jumping dolphins everywhere!!

Wonderful rainforest experience!

A wonderful, remote location in the rainforest, with all the comforts of a well run hotel. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute. The lodge and grounds are well maintained and are managed in a meticulously sustainable manner. It is a boutique lodge, with fewer than 30 guests at maximum capacity, and many of the accommodations are bungalows set apart from the lodge. So you very much feel like you are staying out of doors in the rainforest. Yet, the lodge and bungalows are very comfortable and the food is quite good. The staff are warm and attentive. We took advantage of the lodge's excellent trail system and saw wildlife everywhere, but we also saw toucans and howler monkeys and other wildlife from our bungalow. It was a wonderful experience for my son and me

Exquisite lodge, warm personnel

A truly lovely remote setting with an inviting open-air lodge, good food, warm and accommodating personnel. We stayed 3 nights here and enjoyed a nighttime guided rain forest tour, hiking, and kayaking in mangroves, plus yoga and ocean swimming. Available guides are excellent and engaging
