A breathtaking and peaceful refuge, accessible only by boat, our eco lodge is situated on a 165-acre natural preserve and connected to Piedras Blancas National Park, with picturesque ocean and mountain views. Enjoy infinite activities, including kayaking, paddle and dolphin-watching in the blue-green waters of the Gulf of the Pacific Ocean, plus hiking and horseback riding in the wild coastal rainforest. Guests can arrive by plane to Puerto Jiménez or Golfito, where our guides take you by boat to our lodge in the Osa Peninsula - Golfo Dulce region and in the heart of Central America's largest rainforest.

Getting to The Lodge

The easiest way to get here is to fly into San Jose, the Capitol City of Costa Rica. From San Jose, the best way to get to Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge is to fly (45 - 50 minutes) via Sansa Airlines to Golfito or Puerto Jimenez. We will meet you at one of these airports and take you to the Lodge. We are happy to help you with flight and transportation arrangements.

Important: The Nicuesa transfer boat cannot pick up/drop off guests any later than 03:00 pm on the day of your arrival or departure due to the water and weather conditions in the late afternoon. WE WILL PICK UP GUESTS FROM FLIGHTS THAT ARRIVE LATE, but CANNOT PICK UP GUESTS AT FLIGHTS THAT ARE SCHEDULED TO ARRIVE AFTER 03:00 PM. Therefore, please make sure your flights, private transfers and/or any other method of arrival/departure are scheduled before that time.

Driving

You may also drive or arrange ground transportation to Golfito. The road between San Jose and Golfito is well maintained and the drive time from SJ Airport is about 4.5 hours. It is recommended that you park in the secured lot at the Samoa del Sur Restaurant, where we will pick you up.
