Heaven in Earth. Not ...

Heaven in Earth. Not just because you have a first hand access to nature, but because the hotel staff couldn't possibly be more friendly, open and helpful. They are proud of this place and that shows up all the time

I just spent five ...

I just spent five wonderful days at Nicuesa Lodge with my 10 year old daughter. We took advantage of the morning guided tours to explore the area and to learn about the local flora and fauna. We were mesmerized by how many different species of animals and birds live here. In the afternoon, we relaxed by the beach and went to several yoga classes, which are set in the most amazing spot: overlooking the gulf and surrounded by the Rain Forest! Can’t get more Zen than that! At Nicuesa Lodge, we stayed in the beautiful El Perezoso cabin. Rustic, yet very comfortable and so peaceful. At night, the rhythm of the waves breaking nearby rocked us to sleep — that is, until the Howler monkeys woke us up! This first time we were a little surprised, but then, their sound merged with all the other beautiful sounds coming from the Rain Forest. Of course, this being an eco resort, animals are king, we got used to having a lizard always on top of a wall in our bathroom instead of chasing him away. My daughter decide to name him Teddy. 7 The staff at Nicuesa Lodge was the best. Very kind to me and to my daughter — and to several other kids who were visiting from England and Germany. The staff was very knowledgeable about all the wildlife and always happy to help identify a new bird or anything we saw. They were always available; always helping us getting the kayaks or the paddle boards in the water; yet very discreet as well, which I really enjoyed. And everyone was so committed to making sure this resort was as eco friendly as can be. Another thing I loved at the Nicuesa Lodge was the communal table. By having the meals in the communal room and table, guests got to spend time together (just enough) to know each other; to share stories or to inform one another of the best locations to spot some interesting creature. Meals were probably the only time we saw other guests at the resort in the afternoon, other than maybe yoga classes. The privacy of the whole place was fantastic and being able to sit down all afternoon reading a book with occasional runs into the water was simply divine and certainly restful! I would greatly recommend this place to anyone who has a very stressful lifestyle (yes, I did relax and “almost” forgot my job); for a nice romantic vacation or, like for me, simply a wonderful way to spent special and unforgettable time with my daughter. Wonderful people, fantastic spot! Go visit

Best Family Vacation

Did not know what to expect really but our family of 4 had the vacation of a lifetime. We did it all... hike to waterfall and the climb up, dock jumping at low tide, dolphin watching while cruising across spectacular bay, kayak river trip, snorkeling, yoga, day trip across bay to surf, night hike, edible tour, chocolate making(my favorite), hammock nap, maybe that is it. Oh... flashlight walk to happy hour in which we saw a snake every time which had us on our toes. You really do what you want but we kept busy. So many animals.. oh and I almost forgot the highlight- visiting this animal rescue place in which we get to hold and touch some of the most crazy creatures. At one point I was scratching a monkey under the arm. My kids were ages 6 and 10
